Temple of the Sun Ma Ring Gold

An oval cabochon of green aventurine fills the broad face of the Ma Ring, set in 18k Gold Vermeil on a flat signet band. Aventurine takes its name from the Italian "per avventura" meaning by chance, after Venetian glassmakers accidentally produced its glittering counterpart in glass; the green stone has since been called the stone of opportunity. Ma - the maternal syllable echoed across many languages - places the piece in ARCHĒ's TELLUS, the earth capsule.
